SIMI VALLEY, Calif. (KABC) -- A Simi Valley man believed to be a local heroin dealer swallowed 11 balloons of heroin when he was pulled over for a traffic stop.
Detectives with the Simi Valley Police Department received information that 26-year-old Brandon Harrison was involved with distributing heroin in Simi Valley and the San Fernando Valley.
Harrison was spotted on Friday, but when detectives conducted a traffic stop, police say he swallowed 11 balloons of heroin before being arrested.
He was taken to Simi Valley Hospital to be treated for ingesting heroin and was released on Saturday. Harrison was booked at Main Jail in Ventura, where he was released after posting $50,000 bail on Sunday.
During a search at Harrison's residence in the 1600 block of Alviso Street, detectives found 20 grams of heroin, about $1,000 in suspect drug proceeds and narcotics sales paraphernalia.
Harrison is scheduled to appear in Ventura County Superior Court on Friday.
