Southern California homeless programs are receiving a $171 million boost from the federal government.

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Southern California homeless programs are receiving a hefty financial boost from the federal government.

The Department of Housing and Urban Development has awarded $171 million to programs all across our area.

Los Angeles county projects will receive $114 million, Orange County projects are getting $23 million and San Bernardino and Riverside counties are both getting $9 million.

Long Beach, Pasadena and Glendale are also getting some of the money.
