Bee swarm shuts down Solstice Canyon in Malibu
According to an alert posted by the National Park Service, Solstice Canyon closed due to "multiple beehives" in the visitor and park services areas.

MALIBU, Calif. (KABC) -- A hiking trail in Malibu was shut down Monday afternoon after a large bee swarm was reported in the area.

According to an alert posted by the National Park Service, Solstice Canyon closed due to "multiple beehives" in the visitor and park services areas.

Multiple bee stings were reported at the main trail and the TRW Overlook Trail.

Authorities said a bee specialist will help disperse the hives.

The closure remains in effect until further notice.
