LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A driver crashed into a South Los Angeles home after being fatally shot, according to LAPD. The shooter is still at large.
The incident happened at 50th and Wall streets around 2:55 p.m. Thursday. After the SUV slammed into the building, the vehicle caught fire.
Police said the car traveled an entire block before crashing into a parked car and the house.
The building was evacuated and the victim, between 30 and 40 years old, was rushed to a hospital, where he died.
The suspect was last seen going eastbound on 50th Street from San Pedro Street.
Police described the suspect vehicle as a gray or silver two-door vehicle. The suspect was described as a black male wearing a red hoodie and black pants.
Police said the shooting was likely gang-related, and they are asking for the public's help in finding the shooter. Anyone with information is urged to call the Newton Division at (323) 846-6556.
The crime is the 39th killing in South L.A in the last month, the highest murder rate in eight years.
