SOUTH PASADENA, Calif. (KABC) -- Police swarmed a South Pasadena neighborhood after they said three girls were sexually assaulted and at least five homes were broken into Wednesday morning.
South Pasadena police said the violent crime spree happened in the southern portion of the city starting at about 7:30 a.m.
Authorities stated three high school aged girls were attacked by a man. Two of the victims said the suspect groped them and the third said he attempted to pull her into his car.
Police said the same suspect was believed to be connected with five home burglaries.
An all-out manhunt was launched by police and a suspect in connection with the crime spree was taken into custody.
Both South Pasadena middle school and high school were locked down during the manhunt.
Officials said the lock downs were lifted after a knife was recovered at one of the burglary scenes.
After the lock downs were lifted, a heavy police presence could still be seen in the area.
