Rare Spider-Man comic book to go up for auction

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A copy of the comic book that introduced the world to Spider-Man will go up for auction this month.

Appraisers think the "near-mint condition" debut copy could fetch more than $400,000. The comic "Amazing Fantasy" No. 15 was published in 1962. Experts think there are only about 4,000 to 5,000 copies of the book in circulation.

The 60-year-old man who owns the book bought it in 1979 and said he feels that now is the right time to sell.
