Baseball apps offer full experience through smartphone

Baseball fans can get the full experience on your phone through the use of a couple different apps.

The "home run" of baseball apps is the official Major League Baseball app, MLB At Bat. Get news, live audio and video, access game libraries and team pages, watch prospects, shop for MLB gear, visit the MLB auction site and connect with the league's social media pages.

No one wants to miss an inning looking for a restroom or concession stand. MLB Ballpark gives you a layout of each stadium, including locations for everything from bathrooms to beer stands. You can also use it to purchase tickets and check in, as well as get the stadium's history and game day promotions.

If you don't like crunching numbers, you can follow the standings with the app Race To The Pennant. It puts team standings across both leagues into a bar graph. However, if you do like to see the stats, it has all of those important numbers too.

If you or your kids play in a league, Game Changer lets you keep scores, stats, load recaps and update it all live during games. You can record action during the game, and it calculates stats and spray charts in real time.
