The Colorado Rapids and Los Angeles Galaxy, owners of the two worst records in Major League Soccer, played to a 0-0 draw on Saturday night in Commerce City, Colo.

The Rapids (2-9-8, 14 points) were unable to pick up their first home victory of the season, falling to 0-4-5 in home matches. The Galaxy (3-9-6, 15 points), though, managed to earn a point for the fourth straight league match (1-0-3).

Rapids goalkeeper William Yarbrough earned his fifth shutout of the season by making three saves. Galaxy keeper Jonathan Bond needed to make just one save to record his second shutout.

That save came during the 18th minute. The Rapids' Jonathan Lewis tried a right-footed blast from just inside the box, but Bond dove to knock it away with one hand.

In the 32nd, Colorado's Sam Nicholson sent a cross over top of the box and Cole Bassett was wide open, but his header missed left of the near post.

Yarbrough made two saves two minutes apart in the first half, with neither Galaxy shot presenting much of a challenge.

Colorado midfielder Ralph Priso-Mbongue picked up a leg injury before the end of the first half but stuck it out till halftime, when Danny Leyva replaced him.

The Rapids squandered a great opportunity in the 53rd minute on their fifth and ultimately final corner kick of the night. Connor Ronan's delivery found the head of Andreas Maxso, who redirected it to the opposite post out of the way of the goalie. But the ball got past Nicholson's foot and bounced out of play.

Riqui Puig gave the Galaxy hope in the 85th minute when he stole the ball from Ronan deep in Colorado's end and fired a quick shot. Bond dove to his left and got his right mitt on the ball.

The Galaxy had one more look on the counterattack early in stoppage time, but Aaron Bibout's shot sailed over the crossbar.

Colorado failed to score for the third straight match. The club's last goal came May 31 in a 3-2 loss to the Columbus Crew.
