Suspect dead after deputy-involved shooting in Stanton
A suspect is dead after a deputy-involved shooting in Stanton, authorities said.

STANTON, Calif. (KABC) -- A suspect is dead after a deputy-involved shooting in Stanton Wednesday evening, authorities said.



Deputies were called at about 7:30 p.m. to the 10000 block of Sycamore Avenue regarding a family dispute at a residence, said Lt. Nate Wilson, the Chief of Police of Stanton.



When deputies arrived to the scene, a deputy-involved shooting occurred, Wilson said. Deputies had made contact with the man and he was fatally shot.



No deputies were injured in the incident.



The identity of the suspect was not released. He was described to be in his 50s.



It was not known if the suspect had a weapon or what led to the shooting.



The Orange County District Attorney's Office will handle an investigation into the shooting.
