CHATSWORTH, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Two people are dead and several more are injured after a violent crash between a Metro bus and a vehicle in Chatsworth on Tuesday evening.
Shocking AIR7 video from above the scene shows a Ford SUV smashed into the left side of a Metro bus. AIR7 watched as firefighters worked to extricate trapped victims from the bus.

The crash happened shortly after 5 p.m. on Nordhoff Street near De Soto Avenue. It appears the bus was crossing the intersection when it was T-boned by the SUV, sending both vehicles onto the curbside. It's possible one of the vehicles ran a red light.
Paramedics were seen treating multiple patients on the sidewalk. The Los Angeles Fire Department said there were eight total patients. Of the injured, six people were taken to area hospitals, and two were pronounced dead at the scene. The injuries range from minor to critical.
One of the people killed was reportedly ejected from the bus, and the other was killed onboard.
AIR7 video showed the moment crews pulled the SUV out of the bus. The front of the vehicle was completely smashed, and a massive hole was left in the side of the bus.
The crash happened feet away from a bus stop. The bus is part of the 166 line to Sun Valley.
It's unclear exactly what led up to the deadly crash. The intersection and surrounding area are shut down as the investigation continues.
