LONG ISLAND, N.Y. -- Park Rangers on Long Island found an abused turtle at a park in Suffolk County.
The turtle was found tethered and submerged inside a cage at Geiger Park Lake in Deer Park last Sunday.
The turtle also had a fish hook in its mouth and the cage was secured with zip ties.

The rangers spotted it as they responded to a complaint about people on e-bikes.
The turtle was taken to West Islip Veterinary Hospital for emergency evaluation and medical treatment.
