Sunny Hills High School in Fullerton closed due to suspicious note

FULLERTON, Calif. (KABC) -- Classes were canceled at Sunny Hills High School in Fullerton Wednesday after school officials found a suspicious note taped to a door, police said.

Fullerton police received a call from the school at about 6:40 a.m. The note detailed a threat about a specific unnamed student.

"Out of an abundance of caution, the principal and superintendent made the decision to close Sunny Hills High School for the day," the Fullerton Joint Union High School District said in a statement on its website.

Parents were notified to pick up their kids as police conducted a sweep of the campus.

As of 11:30 a.m., nothing suspicious had been found at the public high school located at 1801 Warburton Way.

The closure comes a day after all Los Angeles Unified School District schools were closed following an anonymous threat.

The investigation into the suspicious note is being led by the Fullerton Police Department.
