'Theory of Everything' delves into Steven Hawking's life

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- "The Theory of Everything" is based on a memoir by Stephen Hawking's first wife, Jane.

The renowned astrophysicist has been living with ALS, a type of motor neuron disease, for more than 50 years - but that is only part of this story.

In the film, the audience gets an inside look at how Hawking copes with living with the disease while still breaking ground in medicine and science - defying the odds along the way.
