LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Vice President Joe Biden is in the Southland for events in North Hollywood and Beverly Hills, and his visit is triggering road closures and traffic delays.
Biden is expected to stop by Bobrick Washroom Equipment in NoHo Wednesday to push for an increase in the minimum wage. The federal minimum wage is currently $7.25 per hour.
His visit comes just one day after the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors voted 3-2 to draft a proposed law that would gradually increase the minimum wage in unincorporated areas to $15 an hour by 2020. The city of Los Angeles took similar steps last month.
Biden will be joined at the event by Mayor Eric Garcetti and county Supervisor Sheila Kuehl, who led the push for the county minimum wage hike.
The vice president also plans to attend an evening fundraiser at the Beverly Wilshire hotel benefiting the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, according to the White House.
Here are the road closures and areas that should expect traffic delays:
Wednesday July 22, 2015
Note: A hard closure will occur on Tujunga Avenue between Sherman Way and Vanowen Street from 12:45 p.m. to 2:15 p.m.
Thursday July 23, 2015
Note: There will be no southbound traffic allowed on Rodeo Drive or El Camino Drive from Wilshire Boulevard until 11 a.m. July 23, 2015.
No bus routes are expected to be impacted.
