TUSTIN, Calif. (KABC) -- An alleged drunk driver fled the scene of a crash in Tustin, leaving his injured wife and child behind.

The accident happened in the area of Red Hill Avenue and Lance Drive just before 7 p.m. Thursday. Police say the driver veered off the road, hit two signs and a tree before slamming into a telephone pole.

He then fled on foot, even though his wife and 1-year-old child were hurt inside the car.

The man was arrested a short distance away. He's facing felony DUI charges.

Authorities say the man's wife and child have minor injuries.
