Allentown, Pa -- Josh Early Candies has roots dating back to 1904, in Reading, Pennsylvania, where Josh Early III and a partner sold wholesale candy under the name Richardson and Early. His son, Josh Early IV, along with his wife, started Early's Old Fashioned Chocolates in 1938. His son, Josh Early V, worked alongside Josh Early IV to learn the craft of candy making. Josh Early V moved the company to Allentown in the 1960s and opened a second location in the 1970s.

Josh Early Candies has stayed true to their tradition of small batch, handmade chocolates, and confections. With the fifth generation continuing to make their tried-and-true sweets, while adding some new favorites along the way.
