VILLA PARK, Calif. (KABC) -- A third victim from a high school in Villa Park came forward Tuesday, accusing 18-year-old sexual assault suspect Jared Linares of also assaulting her.
The unidentified female spoke out about the incident that happened within the past year after hearing of Linares' arrest on Eyewitness News on Monday, according officials of the Orange County Sheriff's Department.
Sheriff's officials said they are now investigating all three accusations made against the Villa Park High School student.
Linares was arrested for sexually battery at his school after two younger female students reported they were sexually assaulted by their classmate.
"The school resource officer was able to gather that information and then pass it on to our sex crimes investigators," said Lt. Mark Stichter, Orange County Sheriff's Department spokesman.
Authorities are not saying exactly what happened, only that the alleged assaults happened within the past year on campus.
Students at Villa Park High School said Linares was very active in school activities, and news of his arrest came as a shock.
Linares is out of custody after posting $25,000 bail. Authorities said they are concerned there may be additional victims.
The Orange Unified School District said it is cooperating with the OCSD while the investigation continued.
