GoPro camera captures jet skier rescuing baby wallaby

A jet skier, along with two kayakers, saved a baby wallaby from drowning in an incredible incident caught on camera.

A wallaby was seen jumping into the Noosa River in South East Queensland, Australia and swimming in circles in a disorientated state. Jet ski operator Jonah Cooper was called to rescue the wallaby, and recorded the whole ordeal with a GoPro camera.

Two well-meaning kayakers were attempting to save the wallaby, but couldn't manage to both paddle and hold the animal at the same time. The terrified wallaby thrashed in confusion as it was held up by its tail, even kicking one of the kayakers in the head.

"How the kayaker thought he was going to hold a wallaby and paddle to shore seemed to have eluded him," Cooper said.

When Cooper arrived on the scene, he said the man in the kayak seemed relieved to hand over the animal. Holding the wallaby away from him with one hand, and driving the jet ski with the other, Cooper managed to drive back to shore and release the animal onto the beach. The wallaby quickly hopped away, past a caravan park.
