Heat wave takes out power in Inland Empire
Many residents at the Carriage Trade Manor in Yucaipa spent the night outside to try and stay cool because the power in their home was out.

RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. (KABC) -- Many residents at the Carriage Trade Manor in Yucaipa spent the night outside to try and stay cool because the power in their home was out.

Power was also out at this senior citizen mobile home park.

The problem is that some people need oxygen and without power their medical equipment didn't work. Fortunately one building, the clubhouse, had power.

Several people spent the night there sleeping on couches. Others slept on their front porches.

Residents said the temperature inside the mobile homes was more than 100 degrees.

By Wednesday morning, Edison power crews arrived and replaced two transformers, bringing power back to homes before temperatures reached the triple digits.
