LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Southern California will stay on the cool side Thursday as rain chances return during the weekend.
The region Thursday will mostly be in the 60s and 70s, and some mountain areas in the San Gabriel Valley and Ventura County could see showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon.
Rain is expected to move in across the region by Saturday and the mountains could see snow.
Los Angeles and Orange counties Thursday can expect some sunshine to emerge in the afternoon, along with a high of 70 degrees. Similar weather is expected Friday.
The valleys and the Inland Empire Thursday will see a mix of morning clouds and afternoon sunshine. Temperatures will reach a high of 73 degrees.
Beaches will stay cool Thursday, with a high of 64 degrees and a low of 55. Expect similar temperatures Friday.
There's a slight chance of rain in the mountains Thursday amid a high of 63. There's also a chance of light snow over the weekend.
Deserts Thursday will be windy, with a high of 79 degrees and a low of 51.
