LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- It's spring in Southern California, but a warming trend is bringing summer-like conditions to the region on Monday.
The National Weather Service says Monday will be the hottest day of the week, with the valleys and Inland Empire in the 90s. There could be record-breaking highs.
Cooler conditions arrive on Wednesday when temperatures are expected to drop by more than 10 degrees in some parts.
Los Angeles and Orange counties on Monday will see a high of 87 and a low of 57. Tuesday will be in the low 80s.
The valleys and Inland Empire on Monday will be sunny amid a high of 91 and a low of 60. There could be wind gusts as strong as 20 mph.
Beaches on Monday will see afternoon sunshine. Expect a high of 72 and a low of 55. Similar conditions are on tap on Tuesday.
Mountains on Monday will reach 67, dropping to about 40 overnight. It'll be slightly warmer on Tuesday.
Deserts will be sunny amid a high of 90 on Monday. Palm Springs will be in the upper 90s and could hit triple digits on Tuesday.
