Michelle, Bo and Sunny Obama receive White House Christmas Tree

First lady Michelle Obama and presidential dogs Bo and Sunny were on hand Friday to receive the official White House Christmas tree.

The 18.5-foot Fraser fir comes from Bustard's Christmas Trees in Lansdale, Penn. The business was chosen in July as the official supplier of the White House tree after winning a National Christmas Tree Association competition.

The official indoor tree of the president's home has been displayed in the Blue Room each year since 1966. Obama thanked the Bustard family and everyone who delivered the tree and said it would be used to honor our military.

The indoor White House Christmas tree is not to be confused with the outdoor National Christmas Tree, which dates back to 1923. That tree will be lit by the oldest full-time park ranger in the country during a televised ceremony on Dec. 3.
