Man shot, killed in Whittier; investigation ongoing

WHITTIER, Calif. (KABC) -- A man died after he was shot in Whittier on Saturday.

Officers responded to the 8000 block of Washington Avenue around 12:11 p.m. The victim, Jonathan Rojas, 34, of Whittier, was found unresponsive.

Officers tried to perform CPR before the man was transported to USC Medical Center. Rojas was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Police did not say if any suspect information was immediately available.

The investigation is ongoing, police said.
