Suicidal thoughts from weight loss drug?

(KABC) The drug is called Taranabant, and it's an experimental drug made by Merck. It's in the same class of drugs as Rimonabant -- another weight loss drug the FDA hasn't approved yet due to concerns about suicidal thoughts. It works by blocking pleasure centers in the brain and reducing hunger.

But participants did report an increase in diarrhea, nausea, vomiting and anxiety.

Merck plans to ask for FDA approval later this year.
