More evidence mutation behind autism

(KABC) Most evidence suggests autism is largely caused by some genetic mutation. Now scientists from Massachusetts General Hospital say they've found a rare genetic abnormality on one chromosome that is a hundred times more common among people with autism.

The gene involved has to do with language, which might explain why some children with autism have speech delay.

Still, doctors say more genes are involved, and that's where research will continue.
