Groups says birth control patch risky

The group, Public citizen, claims the Ortho-Evra patch is much riskier than birth control pills.

A 2005 investigation by the Associated Press found that patch users suffer higher rates of life-threatening blood clots than women who take the pill.

The manufacturer says the patch is safe when used as directed.

Public Citizen is petitioning the FDA to phase out patch sales over six months.
