Witnesses: Police shot, killed unarmed man

INGLEWOOD The second man was taken to UCLA Medical Center in Westwood where he is in stable condition.

Officers say they heard gunshots early Sunday morning which led them to a strip mall parking lot on Crenshaw Boulevard at 85th Street.

Investigators say that a car then moved toward officers who heard additional gunshots. Police then opened fire. 19-year-old Michael Bayoune was killed in the shooting.

"I don't understand why it happened," said Jackie Roberts, the injured man's mother.

The Los Angeles Times reports that Inglewood police found no weapons in the car.

Inglewood police had no comment on the shooting.

Family members of Michael Bayoune held a candlelight vigil Sunday night.
