CAJON PASS --
Wind and pelting rain knocked down power lines, washed out roads and made driving anywhere treacherous in the San Bernardino County Thursday night. As severe summer storm swept through the Inland Empire, locals observed a lot of lightning strikes. While lightning is impressive to watch from a distance, it can be dangerous.
There were no reports of injuries or fires from the lightning.
Heavy rains and flash flooding covered the area because the ground can't absorb all that water at once, and as the moisture builds up again Friday, drivers are warned to be on alert.
There may be more weather like this on its way.
