Body found after Mar Vista blaze put out

MAR VISTA, Calif. About 25 firefighters responded to a fire in the 3400 block of South Colonial Avenue in Mar Vista at 5:25 a.m.

Firefighters found heavy smoke showing from a single-family home. The fire was knocked down in 20 minutes, but during a search of the house, a 37-year-old female was found dead inside.

The cause of the fire and the death is under investigation.
