DWP settles lawsuit for overcharging

LOS ANGELES The largest share of the settlement will go to the L.A. Unified School District, which will get $25 million in cash and $28 million in energy upgrades.

The settlement ends an eight-year lawsuit, with the DWP paying $160 million in cash and credits. The county and MTA will also get a share of the settlement.

The DWP settlement is said to be the largest ever made against a utility for overcharging customers,
