The LAPD received a 911 call reporting a woman unconscious inside a car at 8:16 a.m. Upon arrival, officers determined she had been shot.
The woman was rushed to Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. The LAPD says she is listed in grave condition.
Police will only say the woman is Hispanic and in her 20s. No further details were available.
The vehicle is a red, 1990s model Toyota Tercel.
Police are still investigating. Officers are going door to door asking neighbors if they heard or saw anything.
