Green tea makes cancer drug ineffective

LOS ANGELES USC Keck School medicine researchers found green tea renders a cancer drug used to treat multiple myeloma and a form of lymphoma completely ineffective.

It was an unexpected find. They discovered green tea polyphenols negated the efficacy of the drug. Study authors suggest patients taking this specific drug should not consume green tea.

The study is in the journal "Blood."
