Riverside man killed in N.Y. plane crash

RIVERSIDE, Calif. Among the 49 who died in the Continental Express Newark to Buffalo flight that crashed was 62-year-old Clay Yarber of Riverside. Yarber lived with his son Chris in a simple Riverside apartment. He was a disabled veteran of the Vietnam War. Mark Garcia is a neighbor.

"Mainly, he liked to talk," said Garcia. "He was always sitting on the porch, smoking a cigarette and talking to people walking by. He was a nice man."

Yarber was a talented musician. He played guitar and traveled all over the country with a group called Power Play.

"He plays the guitar pretty good, until recently, when he had an accident with one of his fingers, but he played with a lot of different bands in a lot of countries. Traveled a lot," said Garcia.

Yarber's ex-wife, Sherry, and her daughter are en route from Florida to be with Chris Yarber in this difficult time.
