OCTA reduces 91 Freeway tolls

ORANGE COUNTY, Calif. The /*Orange County Transportation Authority*/ is set to reduce tolls by 50 cents during seven time periods throughout the day.

The new policy calls for dropping and raising tolls based on traffic demand.

Officials say there are fewer cars on the road these days because of the recession and increasing unemployment rates.

The daytime toll adjustments are as follows:

  • Monday 4 p.m.-5 p.m. $6.55 to $6.05
  • Monday 5 p.m.-6 p.m. $6.35 to $5.85
  • Tuesday 3 p.m.-4 p.m. $4.20 to $3.70
  • Tuesday 5 p.m.-6 p.m. $8.25 to $7.75
  • Tuesday 6 p.m.-7 p.m. $5.10 to $4.60
  • Wednesday 6 p.m.-7 p.m. $4.60 to $4.10
  • Friday 2 p.m.-3 p.m. $4.60 to $4.10
