L.A. holds hearings on Westside traffic

March 31, 2009 1:31:07 PM PDT
Residents of Los Angeles' Westside are getting a chance to voice their opinions about the city's plans to reduce traffic congestion in the area. The Los Angeles Department of Transportation is holding a series of public meetings on the plan starting this week.

The city wants to restrict parking during peak traffic periods on Olympic and Pico boulevards, and also plans to synchronize stoplights to favor westbound traffic on Olympic and eastbound traffic on Pico.

The city is beginning an environmental impact review for the proposed changes.

The public hearings will be held as follows:

Westside Jewish Community Center
5870 W. Olympic Blvd.
Wednesday, 6:30 - 8:30 p.m.

Thursday at Temple Beth Am
1039 S. La Cienega Blvd.
Thursday, 7 - 9 p.m.

Stoner Recreation Center
1835 Stoner Ave.
April 7, 6:30 - 8:30 p.m.
