Bank robbery suspect jumps off building

PASADENA, Calif. Authorities said a male suspect wearing a black hat went into a /*Cal National Bank*/ on South Lake Avenue at 9:16 a.m. and demanded money from the teller, saying he had a weapon.

The suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of money, but was followed by someone in the bank who updated police on the suspect's whereabouts.

When the suspect went into a parking structure in the area, police set up a perimeter and searched the structure floor by floor, eventually finding the suspect hiding behind a parked car.

Police said the suspect had changed his appearance.

The suspect fled to the top floor of the parking structure, jumping off the building before police could get to him. He suffered multiple fractures and is in critical condition.
