Americans are spending more time on social networking Web sites.A newly released study by Nielsen Online found that the number of minutes people spent on the sites like Facebook, MySpace, Blogger, Tagged, Twitter and Linked-In grew 83 percent from April of 2008 to April of this year.
Facebook was the leader in total minutes during the survey period. Facebook went from 1.7 billion minutes to just under 14 billion in the time period.
Facebook was also the number one social networking site when ranked by total minutes for the month of April.
MySpace is also growing in popularity. It's now the number one site for viewing online video.
