LOS ANGELES --
A cross-country tour to promote AIDS awareness and HIV testing kicked off in Los Angeles on Monday. The non-profit, AIDS Healthcare Foundation, launched the three-week-long, 14-city campaign at the AIDS Healthcare Foundation's Carl Bean House in the West Adams District.A mobile testing van will be driven across country. The vans will offer testing and information in parking lots, malls, and nightclubs.
In a statement released by the AIDS Healthcare Foundation, President Michael Weinstein said the vans provide, "the testing, counseling and results all in one session, so people get their test results right away on the same day."
The tour ends in Washington, DC, on June 27, National HIV testing day.
