Bus burned on northbound I-5 in Castaic

LOS ANGELES It happened at about 4:30 p.m.

The bus was destroyed and flames spread to brush in the rural area, stopping northbound traffic on I-5.

An Amtrak spokesperson says there were nine passengers and one driver on the bus, and they were all able to get off before it was engulfed in flames. All of the luggage was removed, as well.

The bus was traveling from Torrance to Bakersfield.

All passengers boarded another bus and continued on their way. There were no injuries.

L.A. County firefighters were battling a 45-acre wildfire in Castaic when the bus caught fire.
