Car crash sparks brush fire in Cerritos

CERRITOS, Calif. A car crashed and started a brush fire on the westbound 91 Freeway, just east of Norwalk Boulevard near Bloomfield Friday afternoon.

Fire officials say just over one acre of heavy brush was on fire and one lane was closed for a time. The fire was contained by 7 p.m.

No structures were threatened and there were no reports of injuries.
