Firefighters test new firefighting gel

CAMARILLO, Calif. The gel mixes with water to create a protective, fire-resistant coating. During a fire emergency, the gooey mixture can be sprayed on houses, vehicles, vegetation, and people.

The /*Ventura County Fire Department*/ purchased enough /*Thermo-Gel*/ for 10 engine companies this fire season.

They say the mixture is a little expensive. However, they hope to see the price go down as Thermo-Gel proves its value, and production of the mixture increases.
