Police said the man took off in a reportedly stolen car and wouldn't pull over.
The chase ended at East 43rd and San Pedro streets when the man allegedly crashed into an SUV carrying six people, three of whom were children.
Five people in the SUV were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment.
The suspect is behind bars with minor injuries and faces felony evading charges.
