3,200 Edison customers without power Saturday

LA CRESCENTA, Calif. The outage was reported at 6:15 p.m. in La Crescenta and "several neighboring communities," said Gil Alexander of Southern California Edison.

According to preliminary reports, the outage was due to a "transformer failure," Alexander said.

Power has been restored to all but 180 customers.

Southern California Edison crews are switching customers to neighboring services to restore power while they repair the damaged transformer.

It was unknown when service will be restored to the remaining customers.
