Woman punches clerk, window over McNuggets

TOLEDO, Ohio Police were called to the restaurant in Toledo on New Year's Day.

Police say 24-year-old Melodi Dushane pulled up to the drive-through at 6 a.m. and tried to order Chicken McNuggets. She then became upset when she learned the restaurant was only serving breakfast and McNuggets were not available at that time.

"Apparently we're dealing with a very hungry suspect who had her mind set on Chicken McNuggets and decided to commit a crime to get them," said Toledo Police Captain Ray Carroll.

According to police, Dushane punched the clerk and tried to hit the manager. Witnesses say the manager grabbed Dushane by the hair and proceeded to pull her through the window.

When the manager let her go, Dushane shattered the drive-through window.

"I don't know maybe the nuggets are extra special at that particular restaurant. I have never seen anything like this before. They serve breakfast at certain times, I don't know what she is going to do the next time she wants an Egg McMuffin," said Carroll.

Dushane was treated for her injuries, then jailed. She pleaded not guilty to a vandalism charge. She will also face assault charges.

Dushane was released on a recognizance bond and ordered not to have contact with the restaurant. The phone number for her home address isn't listed.
