Initial reports said a newer model red Volvo was traveling about 100 mph westbound on the 101 Freeway, swerving erratically, causing several accidents. A motorcycle rider was reported down as a result of the Volvo's erratic driving.
A vehicle was reported overturned, with a person possibly ejected. Another person was thought to be trapped inside the vehicle.
The suspect vehicle, the Volvo, reportedly crashed. The suspect is thought to have taken off running away from the scene.
All westbound lanes were closed. An L.A. County rescue helicopter was slated to land on the roadway to evacuate emergency victims. Those evacuated were to be taken to the L.A. County Sheriff's Lost Hills station, then to hospitals.
