Suspect wanted for 2 Ventura home burglaries

VENTURA, Calif. At 3:45 a.m. officers responded to a burglary in progress in the 7000 block of Wolverine Street. The resident inside says she was asleep in a second story bedroom when she heard a noise downstairs.

She investigated the noise and saw the suspect reaching through a window and grabbing her property off a counter inside the residence. The victim yelled at the suspect and immediately locked herself in her bedroom and called 911.

A Ventura police spokesman says while officers were investigating this incident, a neighboring residence was found with an open side gate leading to the backyard. Officers say when they went to investigate the home, they found an open sliding door to the residence.

Officers determined that the suspect had entered the second residence as the occupants were asleep and removed property. Officers searched the area but have yet to locate the suspect.
