Firefighter nearly drowns in rescue training

MISSION HILLS, Calif. The firefighter was evacuated by air ambulance to Holy Cross Medical Center in Mission Hills at approximately 2:30 p.m.

The firefighter came close to drowning. The firefighter was reportedly in good condition while recovering in the hospital Tuesday afternoon.

The victim is reportedly 40 years old. The L.A. City Fire Dept. reported that he was conscious while he was airlifted.

Early reports indicate the training took place in a concrete aqueduct at Jensen Filtration Plant in Mission Hills, a DWP facility.
