Questions remain about firefighter stabbing

LOS ANGELES Charles MacDougall was stabbed at the Cecil Hotel on South Main Street on May 18th. No suspect was ever caught and it's unclear what MacDougall and his partner were doing at the hotel.

MacDougall was apparently upstairs in the hotel while his partner was in a paramedic van when the stabbing occurred.

A police source says the two men made inconsistent statements about the incident. Another source says MacDougall may have told his partner not to tell his wife or his girlfriend about the attack.

Both firefighters are on paid leave.
