Murder charges were filed Thursday against a man and woman accused in the stabbing death of a 21-year-old man found outside his Beverly Hills home.Scott Joseph Barker
, 23, and Chie Alexandra Coggins Johnson
, 20, were charged with one count of premeditated murder.
Katsutoshi Tony Takazato, son of filmmaker Fuminori Hayashida, was found dead at about 6 a.m. Tuesday outside his home in 1800 block of Carla Ridge in the exclusive Trousdale Estates area.
Johnson had allegedly dated the victim until recently when she began dating Barker. According to the prosecution, Barker allegedly became enraged upon learning that Johnson may have been physically abused by Takazato.
A third person who was arrested was released after the investigation concluded he wasn't involved in the slaying.
The couple faces life in prison if convicted. They remained jailed on $3 million bail each, and are scheduled to be arraigned Friday.
