$500,000 claim filed in Rialto PD sex scandal

RIALTO, Calif. Nancy Holtgreve alleged the San Bernardino County town perpetuated a culture of sexual harassment by policemen.

The claim said Holtgreve and other women at the Spearmint Rhino club had sex with officers in the police union hall, including group sex. According to the claim, the encounters happened while the officers were both on and off duty.

The department had been investigating six officers. At least four have been placed on leave as of Friday.

Holtgreve also said she began a sexual relationship with an officer in 2008. She claims the officer abused and threatened her after she gave birth to his son in March, and that the department failed to protect her. Her attorney said Holtgreve will sue if her claim is rejected.

City Attorney Jimmy Gutierrez said the city isn't liable because Holtgreve had consensual sex.
