Fire near Wildomar burns away from homes

WILDOMAR, Calif. The so-called Rock Fire broke out at about 7:45 p.m. near the area of Grand Avenue and Gruwell Street in Wildomar. It has burned 25 acres.

About a half-dozen homes were threatened at one point Thursday night, but the flames are now burning southwest away from homes. Officials said the houses are no longer at risk.

About 200 firefighters are battling the flames.

No injuries were reported.
